Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annapurna Devi will embark on a four-day official visit to Arunachal Pradesh from April 10 to April 13, participating in a series of programs under the Poshan Pakhwara 2025 campaign.
Focus on Nutritional and Welfare Programs
As part of her visit, the Minister will tour Kra Daadi and Lower Subansiri districts, where she will actively engage in nutrition awareness campaigns, community outreach, and program evaluations. The goal is to enhance the visibility and effectiveness of the Government of India’s flagship welfare schemes, especially those focused on women and children.
Field Visits and Community Interactions
Annapurna Devi will conduct field visits to schools, Anganwadi centers, hospitals, and self-help groups (SHGs). These visits aim to assess the on-ground impact of Central Government schemes, ensuring they reach the marginalized and underprivileged communities.
Review Meetings with District Officials
The Minister will also lead review meetings with Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and other district-level officers. These sessions will evaluate the progress of schemes under the Ministry of Women and Child Development and identify areas needing urgent attention for improved delivery and implementation.
Boosting Arunachal Pradesh’s Development Goals
In a related development, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu recently emphasized the state’s rapid economic growth during a development review meeting in Shergaon, West Kameng district. He highlighted a 135% growth in GSDP, along with significant increases in state revenue, per capita income, and GST collection since 2016.
Khandu credited the success to collective efforts by government officials, MLAs, local panchayats, and administrative teams across the state.
