UP CM Yogi Announces Major Development Projects, Medical Colleges, and ITIs at Maha Kumbh Cabinet Meeting

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, during a cabinet meeting held at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, made significant announcements aimed at the state’s development. The meeting, which took place in the holy city, saw approval for multiple initiatives including the establishment of three medical colleges in Hathras, Kasganj, and Baghpat. Additionally, 62 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and five Innovation Centers will be set up across the state to boost education and technological advancements.

One of the major highlights of the meeting was the renewal of Uttar Pradesh’s Aerospace and Defence policy. This will introduce new incentives to attract more investment in the sector. Municipal bonds will also be issued for key cities such as Prayagraj, Varanasi, and Agra, following successful bond issuance in Lucknow and Ghaziabad. These bonds will play a crucial role in enhancing municipal development and branding.

In line with the vision of sustainable regional development, CM Yogi outlined plans to link Prayagraj with Chitrakoot, forming a development region, much like the one around the capital city, Lucknow. Furthermore, the Ganga Expressway project will connect Prayagraj to key cities like Mirzapur, Bhadohi, Kashi, and Chandauli, with links to the Purvanchal Expressway.

However, Akhilesh Yadav, leader of the Samajwadi Party, criticized the political use of the Kumbh location for the meeting, suggesting it was not the right platform for such discussions.
