Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP Supriya Sule has strongly criticized Air India for repeated flight delays. Expressing her frustration on X, she called out the airline for its alleged mismanagement, impacting travelers across different demographics.
Unacceptable Delays Despite Premium Fares
Ms. Sule highlighted the inconsistency between the high ticket prices and the airline’s frequent service disruptions. She emphasized that professionals, senior citizens, and children suffer due to Air India’s lack of punctuality.
“Air India flights are constantly delayed—this is unacceptable! Passengers pay premium fares, yet flights are never on time. The airline’s mismanagement affects thousands of travelers daily. Urging the Civil Aviation Minister to intervene and ensure accountability,” she wrote on X.
Personal Experience With Flight Delay
Ms. Sule shared her own experience with Air India flight AI0508, which was delayed by 1 hour and 19 minutes. She described this as part of a recurring issue affecting passengers nationwide.
“I was traveling on Air India flight AI0508, which was delayed for 1 hour and 19 minutes. This is not an isolated incident but part of a larger trend of inefficiency. I urge the Hon’ble Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu to implement stricter regulations and hold airlines accountable for repeated delays,” she stated.
Air India’s Response
Following her remarks, Air India responded, attributing the delay to “operational issues beyond their control.”
“Dear Ma’am, we understand how frustrating delays can be. However, some operational challenges are unavoidable and can impact schedules. Your flight to Mumbai was delayed due to such an issue. We appreciate your understanding,” the airline responded on X.
Call for Regulatory Action
Ms. Sule’s remarks have sparked discussions on social media, with many passengers echoing similar concerns. There is growing demand for stricter aviation regulations to ensure airlines uphold service commitments and maintain punctuality.
Conclusion
Frequent flight delays continue to frustrate passengers, raising concerns about service reliability despite high fares. As public dissatisfaction grows, aviation authorities may need to enforce stricter policies to improve airline accountability and ensure a seamless travel experience.
