Indian Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman met with Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, the pilot released by Pakistan, at the Wagah border on Friday.
Visit to the Military Hospital
On Saturday, Sitharaman visited Varthaman and his family at a military hospital in New Delhi, where he was undergoing medical examinations.
Acknowledgment and Praise
In a tweet, the Defence Ministry stated that Sitharaman conveyed “the sentiment of the Nation” to the pilot. She commended his “impeccable combat skills and calmness in adversity.”
