Gauahar Khan Shares Emotional Journey of Motherhood
Actress and TV personality Gauahar Khan has opened up about the personal challenges she faced on her journey to motherhood. Speaking on Debina Bonnerjee’s podcast, Gauahar revealed that while she is now expecting her second child, it’s actually her third pregnancy, as she suffered a miscarriage during her first.
“I Lost My First Child” – Gauahar Gets Candid
Gauahar reflected on the pain of losing her first baby, saying the loss had a deep emotional impact. She shared,
“No one expected it, and it took me more than a year to even gather the courage to try again.”
She got married at age 36, and knowing that time was precious, she and her husband started trying for a baby within a year. She gave birth to her first son Zehaan at the age of 39, and now, at 40, she’s preparing for another baby, saying,
“It’s now or never.”
Balancing Pregnancy and Work: “I Never Stopped Shooting”
Even with all the personal struggles, Gauahar says she remained committed to her work. She shared that she worked through both pregnancies—often on demanding action roles.
“During the early months of both pregnancies, I was shooting intense action scenes,” she said. “Recently, I was on the set of Fauji 2 blasting bombs while pregnant.”
Gauahar emphasized that she takes her professional responsibilities seriously, adding,
“If I’m in the middle of a shoot, I cannot be unprofessional. Directors are kind and adjust the scenes accordingly.”
She Was Pregnant While Shooting Shiksha Mandal
Gauahar also revealed that she was pregnant during the filming of Shiksha Mandal, where she performed horse-riding scenes and other action sequences.
“Strangely, every time I get pregnant, I end up doing action roles,” she laughed.
Just one month after shooting those scenes, she experienced the miscarriage—a moment that would stay with her emotionally and physically.

Earlier this year, Gauahar had also spoken out against Suniel Shetty’s remarks on C-sections, highlighting how male celebrities often lack understanding of what women endure during pregnancy and childbirth.
