Two Cases Registered Over Unfair Means During APPSCCE Preliminary Exam in Arunachal Pradesh

The Naharlagun police have registered two cases related to the alleged use of unfair means during the preliminary APPSCCE (Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Combined Competitive Examination) held on Sunday.

Case 1: Mobile Phone Found in Exam Hall

Following a complaint from the center superintendent of Kendriya Vidyalaya in C Sector, a mobile phone was discovered in the possession of Mudang Yabyang, a PwD candidate, inside the examination hall. The mobile phone was seized after being produced by the center superintendent.

Naharlagun SP, Mihin Gambo, confirmed that the candidate’s statement was recorded, and she was allowed to leave with instructions to cooperate with the ongoing investigation.

Yabyang explained that she accidentally brought her phone into the exam hall in a rush but handed it over to the invigilator before the exam began. She stated, “I submitted my phone because I took it into the exam hall by mistake. The invigilator assured me that it wasn’t a big issue since I hadn’t cheated. I also spoke to the police, and they assured me that a formal investigation was underway.”

Case 2: Missing OMR Sheet Recovered

In a separate case, an FIR was filed against Binam Teng, a candidate from the Government Higher Secondary School in G-Sector, Naharlagun, after an OMR sheet belonging to him was reported missing from the examination hall. The missing sheet was later found in Teng’s possession, who had mistakenly taken it home.

SP Gambo stated that further investigations are underway in both cases.

Investigation Status

Both cases are under active investigation, with the authorities following standard procedures for handling such incidents during the examination. The police have assured that appropriate action will be taken based on the investigation results.
